Theme: ANNA’S PROPHETIC PROCLAMATION

Reflection for Thursday, December 30 2021

Lk 2: 36 – 40.

Widow Anna was old, but had a keen and sharp spiritual sense. She recognized the Divine infant. She aged gracefully, accepting the challenges of life without losing her faith. Anna reminds me of the saying that beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art. With patience and loving dedication to God, she consciously and artistically wove her life around God’s temple, offering humble services and prayer. Am I patient with God in times of trial and difficulties? Can I spot out genuine and good spirit? Am I deeply prayerful? Do I visit and help the widows and the elderly?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, help me like Anna to age with gracious dignity. Let me recognize you in little children, the poor, sick and elderly. I offer you my prayer of praise for the revelations you give me daily. Make me love the discipline of prayer and fasting just like Anna. Amen.
