Daily reflection for Saturday of the 5th Week of Lent

Theme: JESUS’ POPULARITY

By: Sr. J. K. Osiyemi EHJ

Reflection for Saturday April 9 2022

Jn 11: 47-57.

It is an undisputable fact that Jesus gained popularity, and had extraordinary powers. However, the Jews couldn’t accept this truth with humble gratitude. Rather, they began to plan and plot Jesus’ elimination. How sad!! Am I also hostile to, and envious of those who shine brilliantly and do many good things? Why am I threatened because others are making waves? Do I reject Jesus’ greatness in my life and plan his death by wilfully committing venial sins?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I beg for pardon for having ever offended you by my words, thoughts and deeds. May I cherish and appreciate the goodness and giftedness in others, rather than persecuting and alienating them. When I realize that there are plots against me, let me act wisely as you did: withdraw from public view. May my withdrawal comes with deeper longing and be a blessing. Amen.
