DAILY REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF EASTER

REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY APRIL 30 2022
Feast of Our Lady, Mother of Africa.
Jn 2: 1-11.
Mary said to the Waiter as well as to me, to obey Jesus in all things! Because Mary is caring and sensitive to her environment Jesus turned an embarrassing situation into good. ‘Do whatever he tells you’ can rightly be considered as the best advice in the whole world. Do I ever play the role of an intercessor like Mary, speaking for those who need me even when they do not ask for it? Mary was observant. Am I keenly aware of my environment and the pervading situation? Do I stand idle and see things get really bad and do nothing? How have I been responding to those who need help around me? Has it ever happened that wine finished in any of my home affairs, that is, when I loose patience with others or when there is a misunderstanding? Do I obey Mary’s injunction to obey Jesus when he whispers to me in the inner small voice of my heart to pray more so that ignorance will not claim too many lives in Africa?
LET US PRAY
Dear Jesus, use me to turn water into wine through my act of appreciating fellow Africans rather than complain about them. Turn my/our water of lies, corruption and bad leadership into the wine of good governance in my personal life and in Africa. Lord Jesus, make me a great intercessor like Mary. I beg for the grace to know you and to follow you more closely through the intercession of Mary, your Mother and my own dear Mother. Strengthen my faith as you strengthened the faith of your Apostles during your first miracle. I pray that I may never lose my faith in you as I do whatever you tell me. May I be emptied of unforgiveness, and my spiritual jars filled with sweet peace and joy. Turn the water of stress and worries of my life into pleasant and surprising wine of joy, contentment and peace. Amen.
