Daily reflection for Saturday of the 1st Week of Lent

Theme: LOVING THE ENEMY

Reflection for Saturday March 11 2022

 

Mt 5: 43 – 48.

Hating and avoiding those who resent me comes more effortlessly than struggling to love and pray for them. Jesus, you demand perfection of me. Your call that I should love my enemies is high, but not impossible. If told to write in just 30 seconds the initials of all those I dislike, how many names will I write? Why am I not understanding and forgiving?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, forgive me for cursing and wishing ill for those I don’t like. I require the power of your grace to love them unconditionally. On my own I cannot do it. Please grant me the grace to pray for my enemies, and to know that loving them is rewarding and good. Amen.
