DAILY REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY OF THE 13TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME CYCLE II

THEME: WHEN JESUS IS STILL WITH US

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ

REFLECTION FOR SATURDAY JULY 2 2022

Mt 9: 14 – 17.

I ought to activate my joyful mood when the Lord comes to me in communion and the sacrament of reconciliation. I need to feast in joy and gratitude when I experience God’s goodness, but get sober for my vices and sins. In Jesus’ times, wine was stored in wine skins, not bottles. New wine poured into skins was still fermenting. The gases exerted gave pressure. How impoverished I would be if I only have the Old Testament or the New Testament, rather than both. What did Jesus mean by this comparison? Am I a patch-patch Christian? Do I practice my faith full-time or part-time?

LET US PRAY
Thank you Lord Jesus for the times you filled with me with deep inner joyful experience. Fill me with peace and cheer my gloomy face dear Jesus. May I be true to you o Lord and not mix you with worship of lesser gods. Let me do away with bad old ways and set my focus on your new wine of love and forgiveness. Amen.
