Daily reflection for Monday of the 8th Week in Ordinary Time Cycle II

Theme: THE RICH YOUNG MAN

By: Sr. J. K . Osiyemi

Reflection for Monday February 28 2022

Mk 10: 17 – 27.

Like the rich young man I am sometimes unable to meet up with the simple requirement of Jesus; to turn my whole heart and life over to God and make Him my possession and treasure, to let nothing be more important than God. What challenges can break through my pride to bring out my true motives? Does money represent my pride? Am I attached to friends, money, car, particular Church seat? Can I let go of my electronics and fine clothings? What one more thing is Jesus challenging me to give up right now? Vainglory? Attention seeking? Entertainment?

LET US PRAY
Dear good Jesus, I want my heart to be set on the treasure of eternal life, I truly desire to follow you though I have not kept the first commandment as I ought to. Forgive me for not setting my priorities right. Free me and untie me from excessive love of money and material possessions. Help me to be generous with the wealth (intelligence, house, money, talent, etc) you have given me. May you always be the delight and treasure that I seek. Amen.
