DAILY REFLECTION FOR MONDAY OF THE 31ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II.

THEME: INVITE THOSE WHO CANNOT REPAY YOU.

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI, EHJ.

REFLECTION FOR MONDAY OCTOBER 31 2022.

Lk 14: 12 – 14.

Jesus tells me not to seek gratitude and earthly reward for my good deeds. For this reason, I will include the poor and disadvantaged in my next birthday budget, as well as in my family Christmas party budget. Do I give out only useless and worn out things to the poor? Do I give big things from the motive of self-interest and in order to feel superior?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I know that generosity does not impoverish, rather, it enriches. Let me be generous in my love, and make as my special guests the orphans and poor widows in a feast and celebration of goodness. Give me a large heart that does charitable deeds not just for those whom I cherish or who will compensate me, but to everyone. Amen.
