DAILY REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY OF THE 13TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME CYCLE II

THEME: FOLLOW ME

BY: SR. J. K. OSIYEMI EHJ

REFLECTION FOR FRIDAY JULY 1 2022

Mt 9: 9 – 13.

Jesus calls me to come follow him. He calls all classes of people. He does not give up on anyone. He loves the sinner, the stranger, the depressed. He wants them to come to him. Jesus teaches me today that love, friendship and mercy are much more important than sacrifice. Who do I discriminate against? What right do I have to advise God who he should send to hell and who he should redeem just because they do not do things my way? How am I responding to his invitation to follow him?

LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, though unworthy, I want to faithfully follow in your footsteps. Give me a heart that accepts everyone, teach me to show love, mercy and compassion to the unloved. Pardon me for looking down on others as sinners. Pardon me for fanning the embers of segregation and hate. Help me to welcome others, and add value to their life. Amen.
