DAILY HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE 4TH WEEK OF ADVENT.

THEME: Rejoice, most highly favoured!

BY: Rev Fr Oselumhense Anetor (Uromi Diocese).

Is.7:10-14; Luke 1:26-38

Whenever I see and hear pastors and their proselytes talk about Mary as though she were worthless, I go into prayer mode. I do that because I know that such utterances cannot be made except under the influence of demons. Yes! I pray that God may have mercy on them and find a place in his heart to forgive them. When the Angel came to Mary, he said, “rejoice so highly favoured! The Lord is with you!”

RELATED: HOMILY FOR TUESDAY OF THE 4TH WEEK OF ADVENT.

It pleased God’s angel to greet Mary in this way. How did we suddenly become wiser than angels, and even God himself? We long to receive Jesus into our hearts and souls so that we can have joy. But Mary had him in her womb for nine months before she lived with him for thirty three years. By her acceptance of this honour, generations came to be blessed, and mankind was saved. Just as Ahaz rejected God’s sign, so also many people continue to reject Jesus and Mary today. May we learn to be humble, that our pride may not lead us to sorrow and death, Amen.

Good morning dear. God bless your day ahead.
