HOMILY FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 24 2021

Happy Mission Sunday to you all .
” we cannot but speak about what we have seen and heard^ ( Acts 4:20)

*SCRIPTURAL TEXTS: the Book of Jeremiah 31:7-9 , RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 126:1-2ab.2cd-3.4-5.6 (R. 3), Hebrews 5 : 1-6, Gospel (Mark 10:46-52) .

Beloved, come let us follow Mighty Jesus the source of everlasting Light.

He has done it again in the life of Bartimaeus, a blind beggar and he will do the same for you and me.

Child of God , Your FAITH is what Jesus really needed. Show your FAITH and become.a conqueror.

The first, second and the Gospel Readings points onto Jesus the eternal high Priest , The Melchizedek of Old, to whom belongs the power to give sight to the blind , to make the lame walk, to deliver the Israelites from darkness and enlighten all humanity through our Baptism.

Let us listen to the Gospel of ( *Mark 10:46-52* )

At that time: As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; rise, he is calling you.” And throwing off his cloak he sprang up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, let me receive my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.

*REFLECTION* : Do you know that the journey of the “blind” depends on Jesus the light of the World?

Jesus the unquenchable fire, has come to destroy and put an end to darkness today, to save you and me and deliver us from the hands of sicknesses, blindness of all kinds, barrenness, sins, darkness, crippled and unwanted situations of life, difficulties, sorrows and wipe away our tears.

My dearest, fear no more, let no one stop you from crying aloud, praying and calling on Jesus all the time like the Blind Bartimaeus.

Do you know that your prayers and cries does not disturb Jesus but provokes him to do extraordinary things for you ?

The word of God said that Bartimaeus cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”

And Jesus asked him “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, let me receive my sight.”

Was Everybody around not surprised to see that the Messiah was talking with this poor blind man ?
What can Jesus Son of David not do ? Through the spoken words of Jesus, he was set free :
, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight. And it was said that Bartimaeus, followed him on the way.
*What about you and l, whom are we following now ? What do you want Jesus to do for you ? Whom do you seek today ? What are your worries of life ? Name them and call upon Jesus the defender, the healer and the light of the Blind , who is ever ready to change our sorrows into joy.*

May we all say :
LORD JESUS THAT I MAY SEE …

*JESUS SON OF DAVID: HAVE MERCY ON ME .*

*Prayer* : O Jesus the light of the Israelites, we need you in our time, clear our darkened world and renew us once again in your everlasting Love Amen .

Happy Sunday and happy new week of continuous following Jesus the light of the World .

On my knees for you in prayers.
