Homily for Saturday June 19 2021

2 Cor.12:1-10; Matt. 6:24-34

Someone once said that human beings seldom live in the present. We’re so busy dwelling in the events of the past, or worrying about the future, that we totally miss the present. Think about it dear friends. Do we truly notice the birds of the air, the beauty of the flowers, the grace of grass blades…? Why does God concern himself with these seemingly unimportant things? If God does bother about them, how much more will He be concerned about us?

Friends, we spend so much time and energy planning for the future. It is good to plan, for he who fails to plan, plans to fail. However, if the Lord does not build the house, he labours in vain who builds it, and if the Lord does not watch over the city, in vain does the watchman keep Vigil. The money in the bank or lack of it, the food in our storerooms or lack of it, the weight of our sins or lack of it… God knows them all. Therefore, trust Him completely, follow your conscience, do your best, and leave the rest to God!

Good morning dear. God bless your weekend.
